Recyclable

Although wool felts are, because of their natural construction, fully recyclable by composting over time; Polyester felt can be shredded down, re-melted and extruded many times over into other products; even back into fibre for re-felting in some cases.

Some polyester felts are manufactured from a high percentage (up to 60%) of post-consumer recycled products (like water bottles) and so in turn can be recycled again.

Gaskets & Seals

In some situations, the use of a polyester felt gasket or a polyester felt seal can provide additional benefits to a traditional wool felt.

Glass Transport & Stillage

Thicknesses at 3mm & 5mm in both plain and self-adhesive finishes provide cushioning on racks used to stack plate glass when being transported.

Within factory environments delicate components are transported around the factory in stillage containers and storage bins that can be lined and edged with various thicknesses of polyester tapes offering both cushioning and protection from damage.

Conservation

Our Polyester Rebate Tape is used extensively by painting conservators in various thicknesses and widths to protect and lift the painting from the frame and provide an acid free barrier for long term storage.

Filtration

We offer a range of polyester fabrics manufactured specifically to filter particles above certain sizes from liquids and air with some singed on one side to promote caking and easy clean and removal of contaminants.

Crafting

Our polyester felts are stable enough to make small toy components and even be used in school and educational applications as they provide a soft, easy to shape and cut fabric for many projects.
