Kiss Cutting
We can kiss cut any adhesive tape or adhesive/substrate composite into strips, pads, discs, coins, washers and shapes.
Kiss Cutting (Padding) is a process whereby the adhesive shape that has been produced is left on a wider piece of protective backing paper. In the majority of cases the outer skeleton of waste material having been removed to help with quick application requirements either manually or robotically.
We offer two main avenues for processing depending on the volume requirement and complexity of the product. We have the option to use Steel-to-Steel Flat Bed Automatic machines to produce small to medium volumes of product. These machines are particularly suitable for small discs and pads but are also able to produce large components up to 300mm square.
If the product is particularly complex or requires 2 or even 3 operations to produce the desired end product we then employ our Rotary Die Cutting Machine.
With the high speed cutting and incredible accuracy made possible by the use of spark eroded tooling, this machine gives us the ability to combine materials together, in-line as well as effectively remove waste skeletons and provide fingerlift edges and special surface finishes. An electronic servo controller allows the fine adjustment in cutting gaps between 100mm and 100,000mm in increments of 0.1mm and the combination of 2 cutting stations can mean that both in-line slitting and cross cutting of components can be done in a single pass through the machine.
