Scrim Tapes
A scrim reinforced tape is just one step beyond a transfer tape.
The pure adhesive matrix is laid into a grid of fibre which could be diamond or rectangular in its pattern.
This pattern does not interfere with the adhesive’s bond strength or flow characteristics but can offer a degree of stability to support the substrates during and after conversion into component parts.
A typical example of the use of scrim tapes would be in polyester foam lamination.
